Back on Aug 19 we posted up a Photoshop file of the iPhone interface. The response to the post has been overwhelming – we’re incredibly grateful for all the feedback and thanks.
In addition to the kudos, a few people have been nice enough to extend the library of elements and send it back to us. In effort to keep it up-to-date we thought we’d revise it with their additions.
Thanks to Cameron and Alexandre for the new elements.

Excellent guys! Thanks for the update.
What is the specific size in pixels of the iPhone / iPod touch icons? I’ve heard 57×57 and 59×59 but they look bigger than that to me.
Thanks.
Rainy: Good question. I’m not entirely sure.
It’s easy enough to measure in the PSD. At first glance it looks like 57×57 – but that isn’t the case since there seems to be buffer for cast shadows. Some further research puts the actual size at 59×59 or 60×60 but I’m not actually sure there is a native size (it may not even be square?). Apple is moving to resolution independent rendering so this may be the case with iPhone.
If anyone knows the actual answer to this please comment.
Thank you for going to the trouble to create the PSD file and then give it away, you guys rock!
Is it possible to make such file for Android? As far as I know it may become more popular than IPhone.
Lovely. Thanks for re-post!
How about adding application icons with the shading?
Hey guys, I want to use your great psd for a client, but they’re worried about the legality of using the image of the iPhone for fear of backlash from Apple.
Have you guys run into this yet? Is the iPhone in your psd a screenshot from the Apple site, or did you take a picture of it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
We created all the assets. We have not heard from Apple nor do we expect to. The image is a tool to help people design iPhone apps so not sure why Apple would have issue with that.
