RIM should buy LinkedIn

Rim hearts LinkedIn
There has been a lot of talk about “LinkedIn”:http://www.linkedin.com/ (IPO, “News Corp buyout”:http://venturebeat.com/2007/11/27/source-yes-linkedin-and-news-corp-are-working-on-a-deal/, Facebook buyout).

“Jim Balsillie”:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Balsillie just gave a presentation at the GSMA World Congress saying that “the future of business communications lies in social networking”:http://www.news.com/RIM-BlackBerrys-future-lies-in-social-networking/2100-1039_3-6230542.html?part=rss&tag=2547-1_3-0-5&subj=news.

It would make so much sense for RIM to buy LinkedIn. RIM could get a social networking service that could instantly enhance the value of its devices.

This is my Valentine’s Day UX match made in heaven.

[Full disclosure: We still own RIM in our "UXFund":http://www.teehanlax.com/uxfund/]
