Touch screen gesture based UI

I saw this orignally demoed by “Jeff Han at TED”:http://tinyurl.com/srjsa. It looks like Jeff has stepped out and started “Perceptive Pixel”:http://www.perceptivepixel.com/. “Here he gives”:http://fastcompany.com/video/general/perceptivepixel.html a much more mature demo of a touch screen gesture based UI. These resemble the UIs from the movie “Minority Report”.

With “Apple iPhone”:http://www.apple.com/iphone putting a lot of attention on UIs like this, it will be interesting to see how we move away at mouse and keybord as the sole input devices to computers.

At CES we got to play with the “HP Touchsmart”:http://h71036.www7.hp.com/hho/cache/447010-0-0-225-121.html which is a combination Tablet and regular PC. I was amazed how much I was using the screen over the mouse to interact with it.
