This iOS 5 Photoshop template makes it easy to mockup retina display iPhone apps.

This file now includes countless changes and additions to align to iOS 5. As usual, we’ve painstakingly recreated everything in Photoshop as fully editable shapes layers (works best with Photoshop CS5).

For anyone designing for the Retina display (640×960) it really is quite a different experience. When you work at 100% everything seems absolutely huge but small details get lost when viewing it on the device. You really need to be mindful of how it looks on the phone since your monitor displays things so differently. If you want to learn about our workflow you can check out this post.

We try our best to make sure this file is pixel perfect and complete but there are always things we miss or in this case, haven’t had time to implement. We’re always improving it and will update it here as new versions become available.

The UI for Safari is wrong on this iPhone 4S GUI. It should be a whole new black UI – I dislike the new UI though. It should have been the grey like the iPad version.

Really great work! One question, I am pretty new to Photoshop per se, so wondered if there is a certain work-flow or method to best use these files? ie – create a new project and copy/paste in each asset you require? Are there are Photoshop workspace templates out there in which to set these files up?

PS: Do you mind if I point you out a little mistake I found? It’s not directly referred to the GUI design (because is extremely beautiful and nothing else can be said), but to the reflection of the black iPhone, ’cause I think it should be masked off as the black iPhone is located behind – and covered by – the white iPhone ;-)

exactly what I needed to mockup my idea for my iphone app. When working with my developers, I’ve found sharp story boards/ mockups reduced dev / test time by 35%. Greatly appreciated

I don’t have fonts either, can you please share? Also, I think it would be awesome to post or include in the zip a small write up on how to use the the objects. I had some issues and ended up merging layers to copy+paste into my project. From what I gather, you shouldn’t need to merge the layers, but I just couldn’t figure it out.
