“Building a solid foundation so others can build their future”

We’ve done a great deal of work for John Hancock over the years. Their organization is structured in a way that allows their multiple business units, like Mutual Funds or Annuities, to run autonomously. While this gives them the freedom to meet the unique needs of their own customers it also creates consistency and redundancy issues when looked at holistically.

Masking how John Hancock does business with their customers, or jamming all the content under one roof would have required an entire business reorganization. Instead, we embraced their structure and created consistant, easy to understand content areas for each business unit. The primary benefit to this approach was that each business unit needed to take a hard look at what it was going to say about its product or service offering. With limited page real estate the text had to be brief. It needed to be concise and free of the financial jargon that most sites supply - a refreshing change.

Our financial needs are often driven by various life situations. In most cases, there are multiple financial vehicles that can help. To deal with this we created “solutions” pages to help put some real world context around the products and services that can help.

The goal: clearly demonstrate the company’s key competitive advantages and provide.
