When we signed on with New Balance Canada as its digital agency our first task was to create the company’s first-ever Canadian site and establish a uniquely Canadian voice for the storied brand. The primary goal was to create a community destination where runners could exchange information, learn about running events and help create a site that they themselves would use.
The consumer area of the site appeared as a simple, widget-driven blog, with a whole lot happening in the background. Depending on the user’s profile settings various connections were made with local New Balance retail locations and events fed to the site from New Balance. In addition, key contributors were encouraged to help administrate the site, from writing articles to managing site content.
