After returning from the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in 2004, we were intrigued by the possibilities in the digital home. Returning to Toronto, we looked for a way to bring our expertise in user experience design to this space.
We decided to undertake an exhaustive review of the two PVR products available in Canada at the time.
What we thought would be a small report exploded into a 40 page analysis of the user experience of PVRs in Canada. During the review we began to develop solutions to the problems we discovered.
This led us to release a design for a "dream" PVR as part of the report. The report garnered a lot of attention online and to date, over 5,000 copies of the report have been downloaded.
