The amount of choice consumers have today when searching for a rate plan or handset can certainly lead to a frustrating experience. Our goal was to work with the TELUS information architecture team to simplify the process. Of course, this was no easy task. Over time, the business had amassed a large number of service plans and devices to suit the diverse needs of its customer base. We needed to work within the newly created architecture to ensure the experience was easy to understand and as streamlined as possible.
We started by creating simple ways to browse handsets. Large product images in a horizontal scroll attempt to mimic the retail experience of visually browsing the available lineup. Easy to read comparison charts were developed to help users decipher subtle differences between devices or plans.
